Jurianne Matter made her first little paper-folding boat as a ‘farewell’ present for a dear friend who was going on a long extended trip. She then realised that these little boats would fit many different special occasions. After all, we are all (little) captains and our lives are exciting travels with unknown destinations and interesting discoveries!
The little boats sail out to celebrate weddings, new babies, new jobs, birthdays, anniversaries or sometimes even as treasure ships (with money or candies). With a bit of inventiveness you can also make a unique paper chain or a mobile for a child’s room!
Before you start folding, give your little boat its own name and write a personal wish or message along the railing. The writing and folding takes about 3 minutes per boat. In each pack there are 8 folding boat sheets (4 large and 4 small - each with a different design) and clear instructions.
